my name is rachel, and i am 24 years old. i'm an event planner by trade, and an amateur crocheter by hobby. i have attempted to blog before, but never really kept up with it - i didn't really have anything to say, or a clear purpose in my writing.
instead of making a new years resolution for 2015, i have decided to make what i like to call a "new life resolution"
the changes that i want to make - need to make - have to be on-going lifestyle changes, rather than small, quick fixes. this past summer, i attempted and completed my first round of the Whole30 program. to say it was a transformative 30 days would be an understatement. it was certainly a challenge, being in the middle of the summer, but when the 30 days were over, i felt energized, my skin was brighter, and i had lost those stubborn few pounds that always seem to hang around. i was telling everyone i knew about this amazing guideline for healthy eating, and one of my sisters and her boyfriend completed a round themselves! i did another round before a trip to las vegas in november, and felt the same positive results.
beyond the 30 will be my journal of accountability. each time i have completed the whole30, i have slipped back into my bad eating habits, undoing all the positive changes and feelings that i just gained. no more. for me, this next round of whole30 - beginning January 1st - will be more about preparing myself the days after. i will do this for no one but myself. i owe myself that much - we all do.
